Why are we doing this project?
The purpose of this project is to supporting Doctors and Nursed in
regional/remote Outback Australian Medical Clinics with Mobile and
Portable Ultrasounds. Many of these location in the Outback do not have
access to Ultrasound services.
Ultrasound Outback - Mobile Ultrasounds
These are mobile machines best suited to larger Outback Medical Clinics. These machines are generally 9 years old well serviced and have the advantage of qualifying for the Medicare LSPN Rebate for up to 15 years in Outback accredited medical centers.

Is this value for money spent?
It is estimated that just one evacuation from a regional/remote location is more that the cost this portable Ultrasounds
$3,600.00) and provide a better out comes for the patients
What is our creditability?
Medical Repurposing Network (MRN) is an Australian Registered Charity with the ACNC and an endorsed project of
Rotary Clubs of Sydney Cove, Bathurst and Currumbin Coolangatta Tweed.
MRN also is a registered Project with RAWCS (Rotary Australia World Community Services).
Have we any experience in do this?
Yes - MRN/Rotary has assisted with donating 5 portable ultrasounds to regional
hospitals in PNG in cooperation with Rotary Clubs of Port Mroesby, Goroka and
Madang. And all are doing a great job.

Ultrasound Outback - Portable Ultrasounds
These are laptop styles machines that provide basic ultrasound screening with a range of probes to assist in antenatal and general diagnostic assessments. These are best suited to Outreach Clinics and or in mobile clinic runs to remote areas.
