MEDICAL REPURPOSING NETWORK
In March this year, the Asturias Birthing Centre in Balamban, Cebu Island, Philippines took delivery of a Samsung Ultrasound unit. How did that happen?
The unit was no longer needed by our Maternity Unit and it was about to be retired.
Luckily, Wayne Leathem, Scrub Nurse accepted the machine on behalf of his charity – Medical Repurposing Network. MRN organised to send it to where it was really needed, packaging it and shipping it there in conjunction with a Philippines-based charity (EOI).
This unit is now helping to improve the lives of antenatal patients where prevoiusly people had to travel longer distances to have ultrasounds at other hospitals.
Medical Repurposing Network donations are accepted through RAWCS - Rotary Australia World Community Services and any charitable donations are tax deductible.
Join Medical Repurposing Network friends on Facebook. We’ll let you know when we have some cool events. Call Wayne Leathem 0404 179 169 if you’d like to help this charity in any way.
Thank you Mater!
